Protecting your privacy when you use our websites is important to us. That’s why we would like to explain how we handle your personal data. This privacy statement applies to the following websites and their subdomains:

The responsible party under the terms of the Data Protection Act is G&K TechMedia GmbH, Denzlinger Straße 27, 79312 Emmendingen, Germany (hereinafter “G&K” “we,” “us,” etc.).

2. Personal Data

Personal data are information about the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person, i.e. all data that can be used to determine your identity. These data include, for example, your first and last name, your mailing address and email address, your telephone number and your date of birth. Information of a general nature, by means of which your identity cannot be determined (e.g. “between the ages of 18 and 30”), is not considered to be personal data.

3. Collection, Processing and Use of Data

You can visit our above-mentioned websites without allowing your personal data to be collected. However, the use of certain personal data is required for some offers on our website, e.g. purchases in our web shop, participation in raffles, participation in surveys, or for the marketing purposes specified in this privacy policy. You are asked to provide some of these data when you register, for example, when you place an order in our web shop. We collect, process and use your personal data to process your order and to notify you about the status of the order and/or its delivery. If you have given us your consent to receive newsletters or informative bulletins, we will regularly send you information about the services and products associated with our offers. You can instruct us to stop providing you with such newsletters or informative bulletins whenever you wish and without specifying any reason for your decision. To do so, simply email your written notification to Each newsletter and informative bulletin includes explicit mention of this option.

4. IP Addresses, Cookies and Web Beacons

When you visit our websites, technical reasons may cause our server to store your IP address (i.e. the identifier which your Internet service provider has assigned to your PC), as well as other items of information such as the date, the time and the site that you visited. Analysis of such data for statistical or marketing purposes is performed only in anonymized or pseudonymized form.
Some of the abovementioned websites use so-called “cookies.” These are small text files that are copied onto your hard drive by a web server. Cookies contain information that can later be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. Cookies cannot run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies can be blocked by your browser. The help function in the menu bar of most browsers explains how and to what extent you can stop the implantation of new cookies or turn off their use altogether. In this case, however, we can no longer offer you some of the functionalities of our websites. On some of the abovementioned websites, and solely for statistical purposes, we use so-called “web beacons” or GIF files, with which we can determine how many visitors were on the websites and which advertisements they accessed.

5. Use of Google Analytics

On some of our websites (see paragraph 8 for more details), we use Google Analytics, a web-analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies,” i.e. text files that are stored on your computer and that make it possible to analyze your use of the website. The information which the cookie generates about your use of this website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to a Google server in USA, where it will be stored. Google will use these data to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports about website activities for the website’s operator, and to provide other services associated with the use of the website and the use of the internet. Google may also transfer these data to third parties insofar as this is required by law or when third parties process these data on Google’s behalf. In no case, however, will Google correlate your IP address with other data held by Google. You can prevent the installation of cookies by setting your browser’s software accordingly; in this case, however, we explicitly inform you that this resetting may make it impossible for you to make full use of all of the functions of this website. By using this site, you agree to allow Google to take the data that have been collected about you and to process them in the manner described above and for the purposes described above.

6. Use of Social Plugins

On some of our websites (see paragraph 8 for more details), we use a number of so-called “social plugins.” Social plugins are small expansion modules from various social networks which enable you to notify other participants within the social network that you are currently on our websites. We would like to point out that we have only limited influence on the data conveyed by these social plugins. Please note the following information, which describes how these social plugins work.
When you visit the abovementioned websites, which include social plugins of this kind, your browser establishes a direct connection between itself and the servers of the social network. In this case, data is sent to the social network to inform it which websites you are currently visiting. These data are stored in accordance with the privacy policy of the social network. It is also possible that the social network will also log your browsing history or other data. If you interact with the social plugin (i.e. if you click on it) and you are simultaneously logged in at the corresponding social network, this can potentially be associated with your profile and may appear elsewhere on the internet. If you do not want the social network to collect information about you from our websites, it may be helpful for you to log out at the social network before you visit our websites. You can click on the links in the right-hand column below to read the various privacy policies, where you can find additional information about the purpose and scope of the data collection, the further use of your data by the respective social networks, and the setting options that you can use to protect your privacy.
